Join us for a special half-day botanical experience that pairs perfectly with the Wildflowering by Design Exhibition at Dogwood Crossing, Miles.
Step into the heart of wildflower season with a morning adventure to Gurulmundi, one of southern Queensland’s most vibrant wildflower hotspots. Located along the Great Dividing Range, Gurulmundi is a botanical hotspot, featuring over 200 native flora species.
Guided by Rose Aisthorpe, Boobook’s senior botanist and passionate plant lover, you’ll venture into the field to discover a dazzling display of wildflowers – from grevilleas and wattles to bush peas and boronias. Keep your eyes peeled for rare local gems like the Gurulmundi Heath-myrtle and Curly-bark Wattle, found almost nowhere else on Earth.
This easy-paced tour includes short nature walks and plenty of opportunities to photograph, sketch, or record your sightings in a wildflower journal. It’s a relaxing and inspiring way to connect with the land and uncover the hidden beauty of the region’s native flora – including tiny orchids tucked away in the grass.
*All tours are weather dependent. The specific flora you’ll see will depend on the year’s growing season and climatic fluctuations.
