Itinerary and Things to know
Day tour outline7am: Depart Roma (commentary on the local region, legends and landmarks). 8.45am: Arrive at Wallaroo Station in the Carnarvon Ranges. 9.15am: Our first stop is to visit hidden cultural sites along the picturesque Dawson River including the ‘Axe Factory’. Enjoy a relaxing morning tea by the river, deep in the Australian bush. This region is rich in Indigenous rock art sites and we visit some notable examples to learn more about their significance and the original peoples who roamed this land. 12.30pm: Lunch is at the Cycad gorge – a spectacular spot with its prehistoric plants and impressive rock formations such as Arch Rock. In the afternoon there are more incredible sandstone formations to see, including the unique colours of Rainbow Cave. Take a short walk to the spectacular grand finale wildflower site – camera highly recommended! 4pm: Enjoy final refreshments while absorbing the inspiring view of Sphinx Rock. 4.30pm: Depart for Injune and Roma. 6pm: Arrive back in Roma. |
