Itinerary
Day 1Thursday, 24 April 20252pm: Arrive in Roma to check-in to your accommodation. 3pm: We head to nearby Mount Abundance. This is a relaxing opportunity to meet fellow guests. 4.30pm We head back to Roma and on the way visit the impressive Hodgson Silos for a sunset photography opportunity before transferring back to your Roma accommodation. We enjoy a group dinner at 7.30pm. Day 2Friday, 25 April 20254:15am It is an early start for those who would like to attend the Anzac Day dawn service in Roma (self-drive). 7am Enjoy a continental breakfast with fellow guests. 8 am We board our air-conditioned mini-bus to travel a couple of hours to the remote Wallaroo Outback Retreat. 1pm Lunch followed by a photography insight session with more about reviewing, editing and processing your pictures. 4pm Enjoy free time for a stroll or a rest before a campfire dinner. 7pm Campfire dinner then snuggle into your glamping tent and fall asleep to the bush silence (and a few bush animal sounds!) Day 3Saturday, 26 April 20255am We’ll be up early for a sunrise photographic session taking in the panoramic Arcadia Valley. 8am Breakfast and then we’ll explore unspoilt areas of the 72,000 hectare Wallaroo Outback Retreat where few people visit and where there are unique opportunities for a variety of Australian bush photographs. 10.30am Morning tea. Your next session back at Wallaroo base is to download and edit your morning’s photos. 1pm Lunch, then enjoy a couple of hours to take your own photos around the retreat. 3pm We’ll visit Indigenous rock art sites hidden in the bush to soak in their stories and marvel at their muted colours. Capture the feeling and learn how to master your lighting. 6pm Dinner is back at your accommodation with maybe a few more photos of campfire flames and new friendships before bed! |
Day 4Sunday, 27 April 20257am Breakfast The morning is dedicated to the macro world – Craig’s specialty – where tiny creatures live amongst leaves and wildflowers. While Craig gives insights into the secret natural world and its biodiversity, Danielle will explain how to capture close-up glimpses of nature. 12pm Lunch. 2pm A session to share insights of what has worked and not worked in our photographs with Danielle on hand to give feedback and suggestions. 4pm From sunsets that sing to stars that glide, our last lessons of the day tackle those difficult subjects that often challenge amateur photographers. There are principles to learn as well as awe-inspiring moments to capture. 7pm Dinner Day 5Monday, 28 April 20258am Breakfast. 9am A last session to share your impressions, your photos and your new insights. 10am Return to Roma Note: Some experiences will depend on weather but we have alternative options if needed.

Do I need to bring my own camera and photography equipment? Yes, and we will have some additional equipment for you to try. If you have a drone, you are welcome to bring it as our retreat is on private property. |
